Billy's Midway Arcade in Hawthorne, NJ is a place I've heard about for a while, but never had the chance to check out and visit. And now that I have, I am kicking myself for not coming out here sooner. It's an absolutely amazing retro arcade with over 100 classic video games and pinball machines from the 70's, 80's, 90's, and even earlier in some cases! Located on the second floor above the Celtic Corner restaurant and Irish pub, this arcade offers free entry and you pay for the time you spend. I would honestly recommend just getting the $30 all day pass because there are not only so many nostalgic, classic games here to play, but also a certified TON of rarities that I have literally never seen nor heard of elsewhere! In fact, when doing the listing for this arcade on Zenius, I ended up having to add about a dozen of the games that Billy has in this arcade to their database because they just didn't exist in the system yet!
Of course, you have all your classics here; there's five different Pac-Man games, including the original, Ms. Pac-Man, Super Pac-Man, the pinball/video hybrid Baby Pac-Man, and the pure pinball Mr. & Mrs. Pac-Man. You've got a couple different Donkey Kong games, Asteroids AND Blasteroids, Zaxxon, Dig Dug, Frogger, so on and so forth. There's even some fighting games from the 90's and turn of the millennium such as Virtua Fighter, Mortal Kombat 2 and 3, Marvel vs. Capcom, and X-Men vs. Street Fighter. There's a number of racing games available, from the old Sega games such as Hang-On and OutRun, to stuff like California Speed, Cruis'n USA, San Francisco Rush, and even a rare enclosed Hard Drivin' cab (with a warning that it's only to be used by people aged 15 and older). Pinball machines run the gamut from electromechanical classics like Capt. Fantastic, Flying Carpet, and Dealer's Choice to DMD-era games like Terminator 2: Judgment Day and Red & Ted's Road Show.
But the true stars of the show here are the rare games that you just don't come acr
