Learning to read is exciting for young students. Today I introduced the ‘c’ sound and was blown away at how quickly my student recognised the beginning sound in pictures. Not only could my student identify the beginning ‘c’ sound in pictures, but could also think about other words which begin with ‘c’.

Are you looking for a reading program which teaches the 26 letters of the alphabet by sounds and develops comprehension and listening skills? The ‘Journey to Reading’ program is designed for young readers and starts with the basics of reading.
Aims of the program:
- Recognize the 26 letters of the alphabet by sound. - Read 3 to 4 letter words by blends or word families. - Develop comprehension skills by answering who, when, where, what, why and how questions. - Write out the upper- and lower-case letters of the alphabet. - Improve listening skills. - Identify beginning, middle and end sounds in words.
