HEADS UP! I'm going to be running my first pinball tournament at the Morristown Game Vault TOMORROW, Tuesday, November 12th! If you're in the area, come on out and enjoy some flipper fun on the finest public collection of machines that North Jersey currently has to offer. Registration opens at 6 PM, and the tournament will start promptly at 7 PM. $20 entry to the Vault for the night and a $5 tournament fee will get you in the door and playing with the rest of us. Players of all skill levels are welcomed, whether you consider yourself a bonafide pinball wizard or just like watching the silverball go up and down. Like the saying goes, "it's more fun to compete". Hope to see y'all there!
Now, back to your regularly scheduled video description!
In case it's not clear, the Morristown Game Vault has become like a second home for my family and myself over the past several months. Since my first visit earlier this year, we've been going back on a regular basis. It's got a fantastic selection of retro games from the 70's, 80's, 90's and beyond, and as I mentioned earlier, one of the best collections of well-maintained pinball machines that you're going to find anywhere in the area. Tuesday nights are their usual weekly pinball tournaments, with a usual cast of characters that are warm, welcoming, and friendly to newbies as well as the regulars. And one of the bonus points about joining in on Tuesdays is you have a chance to play on some of the owner's machines that he doesn't typically make available to the public, including old school classics like Evel Knievel, Harlem Globetrotters on Tour, Night Rider, Terminator 2, and even more!
I'd be remiss if I didn't talk about the absolutely AWESOME building that the Game Vault calls home. This is a legitimate old school 19th century bank building with classic architecture, and many of the classic features inside have been preserved. The high ceilings give you a great feeling of enormousness while you're walking the aisles, play
