It's that time of year once again, after all. The air is getting crisp, the leaves are changing colors, and jump scares are around every corner. So naturally, we're making a few visits to theme parks in the Northeast to check out their limited-time Halloween attractions! This time around, we made the drive to upstate New York to hit Six Flags Great Escape in Queensbury, just south of Lake George. This park is definitely one of the smallest in the Six Flags family, and it's more geared to families with less thrilling attractions and more rides that kids of all ages can enjoy. But once Halloween rolls around, all bets are off. They have their own version of the ever-popular Fright Fest celebration, with creepy decorations, haunted houses, and scare zones rife with costumed actors.
Also worth mentioning is that this Six Flags is unique in that it has something no other park in the chain has; their very own indoor waterpark and lodge! The Great Escape Lodge is located directly across the street from the amusement park, and they share a parking lot as well. This is where the majority of the arcade games are; in the park itself, it's mostly just claw machines, prize games, and a single, solitary air hockey table. But in the lodge, there's two separate arcades. The Starlight Arcade is on the lodge's first floor, and this has a ton of ticket games, as well as some VR experiences, racing games, skee-ball, and a rare machine called "Crazy Rafting" which I haven't seen in too many spots. Unfortunately it wasn't working during my visit, so I was unable to give it a spin, but it looks pretty cool! Then, up on the lodge's second floor, there's the North Star Arcade, a much smaller space which still has a handful of claw machines but mostly has games for people to play together such as racers like Cruis'n Blast, Mario Kart, H2Overdrive, the classic Deadstorm Pirates in a standup version, Guitar Hero Arcade... well, okay, GHA is a bad example here because it's missing one of the t
