Based on experience ,from being near the World Trade Center in New York City when it happened, a 6.2 Earthquake and to a number of Storms in the past, there was Ruping , Haiyen (Yolanda) and the current Typhoon Rai (Odette) which was by far the most scared I ever was in my entire life . These incidents I experienced changed my view of how homes and dwellings ought to be designed , so for the past fifteen years , I designed and lived in my house not typical from the rest . Though I could have had every opportunity to design a house based on aesthetics and fad , I opted to design one that could protect me from possible calamities , civil unrest or pandemics that could make you stay indoors most of the time . Though in the beginning I was ridiculed , I was told I was paranoid and I was literally laughed at , I endured those comments and OPTED to survive.
