SpeedWorld (Ocean City MD), 4K arcade walkthrough & tour, September 2024

SpeedWorld is one arm of the gigantic Jolly Roger empire that has numerous attractions throughout Ocean City, Maryland. Located at their 30th Street complex near their uptown amusement park and waterpark, SpeedWorld is -- as the name implies -- a massive collection of go-kart tracks. They've got karts ranging from kiddie-friendly oval tracks for the youngest members of the family, to massive, sprawling spiral structures that crank up the RPMs and give you airtime. But, surprisingly, SpeedWorld is also home to the only dedicated arcade throughout Jolly Roger's parks. There's a handful of carnival games at their amusement pier, but the main SpeedWorld building actually has a couple dozen games in it, including redemption games, basketball machines, and... of course... racing games. Because why wouldn't they? It's awesome to see the UNIS import version of Cruis'n Blast here with the full motion seats; it's always a fun game but the motion simulation kicks it up an additional notch. I wouldn't say this is a place to go out of your way to go visit in OCMD for the arcade games, but if you're going to do some go-karts, you might as well stop in here anyway!
