You WON'T BELIEVE what's HIDING in this Brooklyn laundromat!

Sunshine Laundromat & Pinball in the Greenpoint section of Brooklyn, NY kind of gives it away with the name... and the big printed out P-I-N-B-A-L-L letters hanging in the window facing the street... but still, there isn't quite anything that prepares you for that rush of walking into the hidden speakeasy section. Yes, this is a full service laundromat, where you can come in at basically any hour of the day and do a load of the wash. There's a quarter machine to load up the washers and driers, and play a couple of the games they have out in the front (including an original Pac-Man cabaret cabinet, as well as The Shadow and Star Trek: The Next Generation pinball). But it's not until you walk all the way to the back, tug on the door to washer #17, and you discover that this laundromat is much, much more than meets the eye. In the back of the building is a full-on pinball arcade and speakeasy bar, with one of New York City's most distinguished lineups featuring a ton of rare games and even more rare limited editions. We made the trip out on a recent Wednesday night to check it out, and were blown away by the love and care put into the place. Fan favorite classics like World Cup Soccer, Theatre of Magic, and No Good Gofers sit alongside limited edition models of newer Stern machines like Jaws, Deadpool, Jurassic Park, and Stranger Things. There's even a "Holy Super Limited Edition!" model of Batman '66, which was apparently limited to 80 copies in production and is signed by Adam West, George Gomez, and Lyman Sheats. The rare Big Lebowski game from Dutch Pinball is on display as well, and two of the newest machines are up near the front of the speakeasy; the absolutely beautiful 70th anniversary edition of Godzilla, with its layout redone all in black, white, and red, and the quite literally brand new Avatar: The Battle For Pandora machine from Jersey Jack.
