Animasi ini bertema zombie komedi dengan karakter utama yaitu seekor kucing yang bisa berbicara bahasa manusia dan sebut saja ia (kure) kucing rese. Kucing rese sendiri digambarkan dengan karakter kucing yang ngeselin dan menyebalkan. Kucing rese merupakan kucing hasil eksperiment yang mana telah menjadikan ia berbeda dari kucing pada umummnya. Kucing rese dapat berbicara bahasa manusia dan melakukan gerakan bela diri lainnya. Singkat cerita kucing rese berhasil melarikan diri dari majikannya yang jahat yaitu seorang professor gila Lirisa dan kemudian bertemu dengan seorang pemuda pengangguran yang bernama Otto dan memutuskan untuk hidup bersamanya. Keseharian hidup yang sederhana cukup membuat mereka sangat bersyukur hingga tibalah petaka besar yang terjadi, yaitu tersebarnya viruz ZGW ( Zombie Gone Wild) ke seluruh penjuru area termasuk tempat tinggal mereka dan mengharuskan mereka untuk survive.
