Eager to escape from his familial duties, Zi Xiang is sent to Taiwan for business negotiations but is immobilized by a sniper attack en route. He persuasively hires the capable assistant, Feng Jie, to employ Shao Peng as his caretaker, hoping to seize the opportunity to flee for freedom. Shao Peng, frustrated in job seeking due to his deafness and muteness, discovers he's being used and angrily decides to leave; understanding the reason later, he expresses his empathy for Zi Xiang through sign language.
