Sixteen years after the war, Tokyo, once a burnt wasteland, was rebuilt into one of the world's leading cities because people worked hard, hoping for modest happiness. One of them was Tamura Mokichi, a driver for the American Breath Club. Today, after visiting his parents' shrine for the Shichigosan festival, he headed off to work. However, the radio was reporting ominous news. A Federal missile submarine had been captured in the North Atlantic training area of the country, and tensions between the two camps were rising. Mokichi was more concerned about the rise in stock prices and his family than about such things. He wanted to find a villa for his wife Oyu and a good husband for his eldest daughter Saeko. Mokichi still had a lot to do. Around that time, a military plane was shot down in Africa. If war broke out, Japan, a member of the Federal Trade Union, would also be attacked by missiles. However, no one had yet predicted that an all-out nuclear war would break out and peaceful Tokyo would be reduced to ashes.
