In Episode 2 of Time Bandits, titled "Mayan," the story continues with the Time Bandits mistakenly traveling to the Ice Age instead of their intended destination. They later jump to the Mayan Empire, where they are warmly welcomed by the Mayans despite Kevin's concerns about potential sacrifices. The Bandits enjoy hospitality and meet the Mayan queen, Lady Sak, who surprises them by criticizing the historical narratives told by colonial oppressors.
Although the Bandits suspect they are being prepared for a human sacrifice ritual, the truth turns out to be far less sinister—a peaceful ritual involving fruit and sunsets. Despite Kevin’s interventions, the Bandits decide to leave the Mayans out of caution. They return to Bingley in 2024, where Fianna, who has been waiting for centuries, attacks Kevin's family. Kevin's parents are turned into lumps of coal, but the Bandits take Kevin with them into another time portal for his safety.
The episode also explores themes of misinterpreting history and introduces hints of tension between the Supreme Being and Fianna, setting up future conflicts
