Twisters (2024) is a sequel to the 1996 disaster film Twister, directed by Lee Isaac Chung, known for Minari. Set for a thrilling theatrical experience, Twisters follows Kate Cooper (played by Daisy Edgar-Jones), a former storm chaser who has avoided the plains since a tragic tornado encounter during college. Now working in New York, Kate is drawn back into storm-chasing when her friend Javi (Anthony Ramos) invites her to test a new tracking technology.
In Oklahoma, Kate encounters Tyler Owens (Glen Powell), a bold social media personality with a following for his extreme storm-chasing videos. As they track tornadoes, storm season unexpectedly brings unprecedented and terrifying weather phenomena, forcing both teams into dangerous, life-or-death situations.
Produced by Frank Marshall and backed by Universal Pictures, the film combines its legacy appeal with modern visual effects to bring storm-tracking and survival challenges to the forefront, aiming to capture both nostalgia and new excitement for audiences
