As red is the first-choice colour for both teams, one of them plays in white, possibly Barnsley. Because of the geographical position of the two teams, the match is played in London, possibly Chelsea's ground at Stamford Bridge. This semi-final tie went to two matches because of a no-score draw in the first game. As the film does not clearly show any goals, the film may be from the first, goal-less match. Action begins with the team playing possibly in red, entering the pitch from the tunnel. Granddad neck shirts, long baggy shorts and large boots. A man carrying a large wooden sign can be seen scurrying out of the way. Some well dressed spectators, bowler hats, trilbies flat caps, suits and ties, gloves and walking stick can be seen sitting at the very front of the terrace beside where the teams emerge. The red-shirted team are followed by their opponents in white. The captain leading them out carrying a ball. The referee with the match ball, wearing jacket and trousers tucked into knee-length socks and boots blows his whistle to summon the two captains to the centre circle. All three exchange handshakes as the captain in the white shirt tosses the coin. He wins and motions to change ends. The action shows a cross from a white-shirted player into the opposition goal area. Cut to action just outside the red's area as a shot sails wide. Cut to the red team's goalkeeper, wearing a peaked cap, catching the ball on his goal line. He punts the ball upfield and a kneeling press photographer can be seen behind his goal wearing a bowler hat. More action from outside the red's area as two players challenge for the ball in the air. Referee blows for a foul against the player in white. Red player picks up opponent from floor as referee rushes
