VO: The Marine Safety (Alcohol and Drugs) Ordinance takes effect on January 1, 2025.
Anyone operating or performing designated duties on board a vessel underway while under the influence of alcohol or drugs and incapable of performing their duties properly, or with an alcohol concentration exceeding the prescribed limit, or with illicit drugs in the body, commits an offence.
The maximum penalty is a twenty-five thousand dollar fine and imprisonment for three years.
