The Arcade Games of the Wilton Mall (Saratoga Springs NY), 4K walkthrough & tour

1 View1 day ago

The Wilton Mall is yet another one of those places that could be referred to as a dying or dead mall. Located in Saratoga Springs, New York, it's just about the midway point between Albany, the state capital, and Lake George, one of the premier upstate vacation spots. While there are a lot of storefronts that are either boarded up, doors shut, roll gates closed, or just plain vacant, there are still quite a few places throughout here that are still alive and kicking. The main anchors of the mall are JCPenney and Dick's Sporting Goods. The former Sears space that went vacant when they declared bankruptcy is now housing offices for the Saratoga Hospital. Sorry to say -- no Dave & Busters nor Round1 here. However, there are multiple arcade machines throughout the mall, including an arcade that's curiously split in half. The WOW Family Entertainment is one of a chain of mall arcades with locations throughout the Northeast; I've previously covered their location at the Danbury Fair mall in the past. Here, however, they have two presences within the mall; a larger location near the food court and Zumies, and then a second, smaller outpost with just a handful of machines over by the entrance to Planet Fitness. The main WOW space has a pretty good mix of older modern machines -- nothing really newer than Fast & Furious Super Cars or Big Buck Hunter HD, but they also have a number of weird redemption games that you typically don't see at many places these days, such as The Simpsons Kooky Carnival, Dinoscore, Hungry Dragon, Demolition Zone, and a weird kid-sized proto-pinball machine called Nudge-It. Made by Gottlieb, it's about as basic as you get; plunge a pinball, bump the machine a little bit, and try to get it in the lit lane. If you do so, ten tickets! If not, a pity prize of two tickets. But that's not the only pinball you'll find in here. Shockingly, they have a great selection of classic machines from the 70's, 80's, and 90's, including Seawitch, Fish Tales, High Sp
