Kings Dominion is one of my favorite amusement parks. I had been out of the coaster fandom for many years, but it wasn't until they announced that their stand-up rollercoaster Shockwave was closing back in 2015 that I decided to make a trip down for the first time in years. It was TERRIBLE, lol. But! I did end up riding just about every other coaster in the park, and had my reawakening thanks to Intimidator 305 (now just "Project 305"), and it got me to slip back into being an enthusiast after decades away from rides. So I will always have a soft spot in my heart for this park.
We were on a road trip even further south to their sister park Carowinds in the Carolinas, so we didn't get to spend a whole lot of time there on this day, but we still did manage to get a good number of rides in, and of course, checked out to see what offerings were in the arcades this year. Also got a chance to check out the construction on Rapterra, their new-for-2025 coaster that is taking the spot of the beloved Volcano: The Blast Coaster which has been defunct since 2018, and this is looking like it's going to shape up to be an awesome addition to the park.
