One of the few off-boardwalk locations to play some games in Seaside Heights, Hooks Bar & Grill is... exactly what it sounds like. A nautical-themed bar and grill with decent food, strong drinks, live music, and a minor selection of games for people to play while waiting for their meals. Not that they make it easy; several of the games are out of order, and others are just in not great shape overall. There's two different Pacs here; a World's Largest Pac-Man, and a Ms. Pac/Galaga which won't start games. There's a Pirates of the Caribbean pinball machine (bonus points for sticking with the theme), but the quarter slot is jammed and no one on the payroll seems to be able to shake it loose. You can pop in a dollar bill or two, but this particular machine plays so slow it feels like an old 60's or 70's EM. There's also a claw machine, two lanes of off-brand Skee-Ball, two hoops, some pool tables, and a puck shuffleboard table. Ultimately, this isn't a place I'd recommend specifically if you want to go play games. But if you want a good meal and don't mind having games to play while you're there, then by all means, check it out! (Try the salmon.)
