See this is why I don't get why Chapter 2 Interlude was an interlude and not just Chapter 3 making this Chapter 4. What was different about it? In this chapter we're continuing off of Chapter 1's conclusion of Perlman having been arrested and put on trial. Nicole was representing the prosecution. We also find out what happened to Rain who was the hacker we had Nicole look into after Belobog in Chapter 2. In fact plenty of Chapter 2's lore will be further explored here. Well what did we have in Interlude? We retcon that at the end of Chapter 2 we met Zhu Yuan and Qingyi because they were the PubSec officers investigating the Ether Beast Koleda killed. The whole chapter deals with theft of evidence related to it and by the end we get a cutscene of Perlman making a deal to get out of prison which lead right into the plot of Chapter 3. What exactly made this any more or less an interlude for the previous Chapter than any of the other chapters? If this was an interlude why wasn't Chapter 3 an interlude too? Why wasn't Chapter 1 an interlude for Chapter 0 since we deal with Nekomata's plot for revenge for the guy that died in Chapter 0?
Ok but gripes on Mihoyo's logic aside this was a fun ending for v1.0. I do like how they did things where you pretty much get to use most of the available characters for the version. I think the only characters we didn't get to use were the biker girls and Soukaku at least for me. I actually saw videos of other people who got a Trial Soukaku during the Hollow Zero section. That's much better than how it is in Genshin and Star Rail though it isn't nuanced at all. Actually veteran players of Honkai Impact will know this is how it works in gacha games. These games normally work in chap
