Feeding wild animals or feral pigeons can cause nuisance and environmental hygiene issues.
According to the newly amended Wild Animals Protection Ordinance,
starting from August 1, 2024,
anyone who feeds wild animals or feral pigeons without permission will be liable to a fixed penalty of five thousand dollars or may be prosecuted.
The maximum penalty is a fine of one hundred thousand dollars and one-year imprisonment upon conviction.
