Many of you will know the ladybug, lady beetle or ladybird insect. The bright red or orange color of this insect with black spots on its skin has already made it very popular.
Ladybug is a red or orange insect. Their body is like a spherical dome. There is a separate small head. It has six small legs and black spots or long spots on the body.
There are roughly 5,000 species of ladybugs that we see around the world. Some of them have striped spots and some are spotted, but the most popular is the red ladybug species with 7 black spots in North America.
People of some countries consider this ladybug as a symbol of good luck. Why not do it? Ladybugs are the farmer's insect friend. There are some insects that eat and spoil crops. Ladybugs protect crops by eating those insects.
A ladybug can eat over 5,000 pests in its lifetime. How little does a farmer have to worry about insects in a field where there are ladybugs?
