The main challenge and the client required to accommodate a maximum number of students in a tight rectangular site; the longitudinal side being along the east-west direction. To ensure ultimate utility the design was developed with an initial mass of horizontal stratification punctured with a large void right in the center with smaller programmed spaces weaving the circulation zones which overlooks the inner streetscape. It allows for chanced student interaction across multiple floors via the “living bridges” that physically and metaphorically bridge the chasms ensuring a thriving, vibrant socially sustainable community.
