The film is set in the Cretaceous period, 70 million years ago. Patchi is born into a herd of Pachyrhinosaurus, which are large, horned dinosaurs that live in Alaska. Patchi is the smallest of his siblings, and he is often bullied by his older brother, Scowler.
Despite his small size, Patchi is determined to prove himself. He is a quick learner, and he is always willing to help others. When the herd is attacked by a group of predators, Patchi plays a key role in saving their lives.
As Patchi grows older, he becomes more and more confident. He also develops a romantic interest in a female Pachyrhinosaurus named Juniper. However, Scowler also wants to mate with Juniper, and he challenges Patchi to a duel.
Patchi and Scowler fight fiercely, but in the end, Patchi is victorious. He becomes the new leader of the herd, and he and Juniper live happily ever after.
