'Stalingrad' tells the moving story of the German soldiers Fritz, Hans, Rollo and GeGe. During the battle of Stalingrad the constant roar of guns, bombs and gunfire just part of the horrific night mare they ended up in. They also have to compete against two other enemies that are just as deadly: hunger and freezing. This makes them in fact just as much victims of the Nazi regime as the residents of Stalingrad. This impressive film by the frequently crowned German director Joseph Vilsmaier was praised during the New York Film Forum and even won the top prize at the Moscow Film Festival.
