A lone human infant dwells in a city of the dead that has long since been destroyed and is removed from human civilization. Will is being nurtured by three undead: Blood, a brave skeletal warrior; Mary, a graceful mummified priestess; Gus, a gruff spirit sorcerer. The three shower the kid with affection and impart all of their knowledge to him. Suddenly, Will begins to doubt his own identity. Will needs to discover the secrets of this dead man's land and learn the hidden history of the undead. He learns the compassion and love of the kind gods, as well as the prejudice and madness of the evil ones. This young guy starts the process of becoming a Paladin.
